Ideas for Teens in Information Technology - Book Review

Just read in "ideas for young people in Information Technology by Diane Lindsey Reeves. As a site owner, the subject focuses on teen jobs where I'm good to read. This book is part of a series of books on specific careers , young people can explore. I have conflicting opinions about the book. I thought it was well researched and well written, but I do not think there is enough substance. It 'my opinion that the author used a lotFiller to fill the book. The book was written for an audience and not really designed for the teen audience. There were a lot of technical terms and information. It was almost like me, she wrote the book for people who were already in the field of information technology.

Do not get me wrong, the book had good information and explain the different work well. The book has a good jobkept my attention through the use of true stories of people in their professional field. The best part of the book and really the only part of the book was actually aimed at young people, the questionnaire exercises of this process will help to design career. After the exercise of career exploration would be able to determine whether a job would be right in information technology for you.

Finally, I felt the book hadsome bright spots, but overall was not impressed.

MySpace, Facebook, Weblogs for young people, I do not know what the parents?

MySpace, Facebook, Xanga, LiveJournal ... Blogs, Social Networking ... "What does this mean?" Parents question. "And I really need to learn about these?"

The answer to the second question above is YES! blogging sites have become increasingly popular among young people, and there are risks parents should be aware. Many school officials had the lead in educating parents to take, because they are spread online questions about problems at school.Parents can not sit in the dark no more, we will help you to a better understanding of the problems here and now.

What it is:
Most of your children use the Internet regularly, socialize and communicate via Instant Messenger (IM), use the Internet for research and homework, and almost half of them at least look at the popular social networking sites. MySpace, Facebook, LiveJournal and Xanga sites are shown more often andwhile only 20% of children 12 to 17 * keep a blog is, more than 40% of young people visit them regularly. MySpace is the largest of these pages, with about 42 million users. Users - often teenagers - Create your own profile, customize with photos and descriptions of their interests, friends, favorite music, so viewers can send messages to the user component of integrated messaging, and messages are read for all to see. These sites require users to be of a kindto use a certain age [executive], and the website according to their stated requirements.

When the user sets his story he has to consider different options. One possibility is to ensure that only invited attendees can leave. This means that anyone who is not described as a "friend" is only able to interact not visit the camp with him. If this option is not selected, anyone can send messages to this user.

Take a look:
Vaihttp://www.MySpace.com navigate and it is not difficult. Some of the pages of children are very sweet, really. This is a way they understand, and if you've never had a website you can find yourself in a new world they have created a world that affect our young people. Select the image you want to communicate through the choice of colors, layout, text and music. It can be very charming, and many children come across as sweet and honest. But right next to the gentle naivetefind some suggestive or obscene images, profanity and references that may disturb. Some children - perhaps many children - are misrepresenting their age, and the promotion of an image that can not do them a favor.

'Preview Teens:
The strange problem is that many young people consider these areas as private, and that parents and adults who visit these sites, their privacy violated. They told me I should "askPermission "of a teenager on the ground that. In the world that anyone can see their side, seem to escape completely. If and when you do a search of these sites, be prepared for some resistance, especially by adolescents.

The topics for parents:
What exactly do parents have in this sector generates so much discussion is important? The most important points, as always, to safety. But as Internet use and communication, appropriate socialbehavior problems, appearance and image around the freedom of speech, parents should look more closely. Just like you, your teen will be determined by your beliefs, communication style, the behavior of your adolescent's age.

Snooping vs. Safety:
If the child was in trouble, you should go with his drawers to make it safe? There comes a time in which the parental responsibility over the child's right to privacy. Parents should teach yourMatch phrase exactly in line and how to address this problem.

parents established the rules from the beginning of Internet use and communication is easier when their children have learned that the computer is not a place with no supervision. Parents made the rules, but not to see their children running backs in this head "privacy" scream about. Not discouraged, because today a lot at stake. The children, according to their informationnot want to see college recruiters, coaches or potential employers can benefit from advice from experienced adults.

If your boyfriend told you he / she can not talk to strangers in chat rooms, you need to know that foreigners can enter their space and start the conversation in a different way when they are stuck. Children often incorrectly identify their age, but the school itself. What do they think they can not be found posting is often anything but that. So parentshave a responsibility to act now to acquire skills and knowledge that can harm your teen naive.

Pose, pose and peer image:
Adolescence is a time when children are formulating their self-image, a process that often some experiments, trial and error. Much of this process is done in view of their peers, such as young people try different roles and characters. Although this development process can be confusing for parents, they oftenExperiment falls within the "normal" limits. Think you know the current college student, you know who dressed all in black as a freshman in high school. Or the former preppy cheerleader who has loosened his image as "Birks". Dons put this in context, which can be seen as something that is not damaged or bad. In fact, the trial heard in cyberspace with an imaginary person more comfortable than the real life experience.

Take the boy with hisWeblog answered yes to the question: "Did you drink last weekend?" In front, the 15 years, said his mother that he "really does not drink," he said simply that its a "cool". girl I know is 18 years presented with a provocative pose on her MySpace page - certainly not the projection of the shy girl, I know. She is fully clothed, and while there is nothing wrong in his photographs, he projects a very differentthan the rest of the person she projects in person. Children who experiment in this way can not cross the lines of acceptable behavior, even if a parent can interfere with it ... and an opportunity for important discussion, at least.

Crossing the Line:
Posing as another person is all too common on the Internet, and is often the cause of the offensive behavior. Children are known to send messages that should determine someone else, news, and unnecessary painMisunderstanding. This communication problem is the worst, and explaining some of the major dangers of the web communication. Maybe you've heard the term "cyber-bullying". Heard this is worth learning, because it happened in the middle and high schools every day. Even here, there is a role for the involvement of parents here if your teen has made Internet communications than anyone else in her.

(For a good 2-minute video about the dangers go NetSmartz.comand the video "cyberbullying" and "Broken Friendship.")

real dangers:
Do not kid yourself that the dangers are real. Current (February 2006) incidents, with seven young Connecticut police is to investigate sexual violence were the result of meetings initiated by MySpace.com. Predators is easy to obtain personal information - including phone numbers and addresses - of children who are listed on web pages, orparticipate in an anonymous Internet chat rooms.

(For an excellent short video that demonstrates how easy it is NetSmartz.com and switch to the "Tracking Teresa.")

The end result:
Do not panic, but be informed. Parents, children should know the actual activities in cyberspace. Ignorance is not an acceptable excuse. If your child is posting on one of the weblog can probably use some advice on appropriate ways in thisWorld. E 'useful to discuss the on-line communication and its consequences. Even as teenagers need to know that adults are aware of what an online presence, and the potential impact of this. These are not private.

Rules your home - Start with Family Culture:
What to teach your children to communicate with strangers? What do you want to teach appropriate language? Beth Fredericks, an educator, parent Internet safety conducted classes, says"Start with your family culture. Keep the rules for use of the Internet in compliance with all other rules that you have done for your family, how they grow." Do not let the children, which is their private domain ... there is nothing to be intimidated at the request private.

Recommendations:

Keep the computer in an open space for the family, not in a nursery.
Limit time online.
Be aware of how the child spends their time online.
Inform your teen on the InternetReality - these areas are not private, and you can keep track of users, even when you provide personal information limited.
Never to talk in open chat room.
Share your password or request a password from a friend.
Never pretend to be someone they are not.
If you're online, just say the things you say, if you were face to face.

Win your teen - happiness

The vast majority of young people think they are losers. This is reinforced in their schools and homes, and everywhere in between. This is what Chris Hill Ministry believes in his book "Grace-Based Youth. Giveaway The indication of" losers "self-image is, paradoxically, a false bravado ... bragging rights.

If you are a human teenager parent or loved one, this is probably one ring true for you, or discomfort, maybe both. We must do something urgently to turnto this or we are facing another lost generation, a generation that can not love. Every life needs to experience love, like love. This is a very simple concept. "Losers" are just because they have not really loved. We see all around us in society, young lives out of the ordinary, as are all parents and adult role models failed (love) them. It is a human tragedy of leviathan proportions.

False bravado is a reaction to fear. It is a 'do not know how to get, so I do that I amsomeone else "kind of attitude. All Teen People seem to others to get it at some time or, some seem to always have, and ironically, may, if their peers apparently it most.'re an adult is confused and only hard work. questions like "Do I look like?" and "If I like my parents?" seem to prevail.

Chris Hill says, the winner of the subjective sense of the level of personal power that can only be ascertained with contemplation and spiritualIntrospection. Let's tease that to understand what it says:

Feeling like a winner is a subjective thing. Nobody can imagine what it is, is a feeling, and it has nothing to do with what you have or do. The good thing is each of the winners perspective. Just help your child be proud of what they have achieved. They did. You deserve to feel it.To successfully requires reflection and contemplation. Encourage your teen to be able to do this in particular.Always praise them for their efforts and achievements, they never compromise a person.

We repeat the mental tapes "of the feedback we receive from important people. Make sure your teenager has the right to" start "tapes only entrust them with confidence, positive adults.

Tapes' are both energy and joy for life, or for the pain and destruction.

Do your best to know theThings that your teen likes to do and help them to do, certainly thank you for your efforts and is often in a better mood. The events that occurred during can trigger certain moods in the teen can take the key is to listen, to understand, to try to guide and equip your teen with everything needed for a healthy and productive life.

Why Teens Bully?

Bullying has become just a part of growing up - has become a serious problem to the point where the school is no longer a safe place for our children.

When I think of Alex Wildman under his own life because he was bullied mercilessly read, I went down to the heart for his family - and Alex there. The way he felt when he decided that suicide was his only chance, pain, loneliness and the struggle must have, it is difficult to understand.

According to Kids Helpline,Bullying is the fourth most common cause of small children asking for help for support services. This is a topic that does not go away quickly.

So what is it that drives a person to harass others? As a teenager I interviewed for my book "You better find your way through themes Teen," admitted Tom a bully at school. "I was intimidated and then there was a time when I was a tyrant," he said. "I sense weakness in someone to intimidate others andthem. I think this has been driven by the need to be accepted, and have some kind of influence or control in my life. "

Bullies are asserting their authority to gain popularity and try to help pay for his own feelings of inadequacy. But at what point it was nice, expected to break a fellow student that the only way to escape as the torture continues to go is to take your own life?

Bullying is everywhere these days. It is no longer limited toThe school yard or railway station bus stop and train station, when students are on the way home from school. Bullies stalk cell of your child. They try to exploit the vulnerability of your child by selectively blocking chat online and recruiting others to do the same. This is the online version of what was once the playground politics know Go away, we do not want to hang with us. " It is also in front of your child's room, the only place you should feel safe. Bullying online via instant messaging,Facebook, MySpace and chat room means that the homeland security risk.

According to a study conducted at the Australian Catholic University (ACU National) Canberra campus, a quarter of school children to experience cyber-bullying and some victims do not report incidents to their teachers fear the loss of access to new technologies.

Robert staphylococcus aureus disease contracted at the age of 15 and because of bleeding and floor mats from his scalp and hair, was forced to shave his head."Because I looked different and had a clear disease, people in the school to enjoy the scars on my scalp and teased me to die. It made me feel hopeless and I found it difficult to find friends and fit me very depressed now. "Robert also sought his life by jumping from a high wall. He was paralyzed for several days and all I could think about what was, what he wanted to live. He says: "When you talk with teachers being bullied and parents, as long as your voiceheard. "

But what about those like Alex, who are too afraid to speak?

Therefore, we have a strong support network of school counselors, teachers and tutors in schools to stop bullying in its tracks provide vigilant need. The perception must be a change in which bullying is so cool that the authors themselves, and are closed unpopular. Tough penalties for cyber-bullying must be done so that our children have a sense of security and know thatif they are victims of bullying as it is a protocol to follow as they deem safe.

Meanwhile Alex Wildman family mourn the loss of a young man with tremendous potential, whose life tragically cut short, because he was publicly ridiculed and humiliated by his colleagues. This can not happen to someone else.

Chemicals in plastic bottles are weakening our boys Teen

Have you ever wondered why so many teenage girls in early puberty in these days, and the guys behind?

Plastics contain synthetic estrogens have been emasculated our boys (and lead precocious puberty, our girls) are on display along with some other factors, according to a family physician and research psychologist Leonard Sax, these plastic bottles of lemonade, water and other beverages.

Five factors contribute to the growing number of low-performing boys and men,by Sax One is the fact that boys and men synthetic estrogens obtained as contaminants from plastic water and soda bottles, baby bottles, pacifiers and toys for children provided. Sax water and soda bottles identified with a number from 1 recycled as the most common culprits. These elements contain BPA and phthalates, synthetic estrogen to soften the plastic.

This is not a surprise. There is a debate among scientists about the amount of these chemicals is harmful.Animal studies, the amount you need to locate to cause cancer, the industry will be used as a benchmark, so that the tracks are not sufficient to cause cancer.

Sax is the question of how estrogen affects a male? Over the past two decades, many of us drink our water from plastic bottles. In fact, he changed the soda manufacturer of aluminum cans, plastic bottles. This makes us part of a huge experiment to study the effects of estrogen administration inMales. Evade the question whether it can cause cancer, says Sax, who believes makes young men quiet, and the causes of delayed puberty.

Four other factors, and plastic additives together to promote a group of men and boys do not grow, says Sax He cited a study that found 25 years ago, had only 8 percent of men aged between 35 and 40 not is still married. In 2006, however, were still up 22 percent in this category, and number. (NYT,08/06/2006, "Facing middle age with no degree and no woman," O'Donnell and Porter)

The proportion of men aged 18-35 living at home with parents or relatives has doubled in the last 30 years. Meanwhile, 36 percent of children in the United States in 2004 were born to unmarried women. These statistics cut across all demographic groups.

Congress, with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is a ban on phthalates in products for children under 12 years sold in August 2009. Thisinclude baby bottles and pacifiers.

The authority for the food and beverage and its container, the FDA, the Food and Drug Administration. In the controversy over BPA, the FDA decides to prove the safety of the 11 studies funded by industry that BPA is believing. But there are 104 independently funded studies that show it is dangerous Catherine Zandonella, MPH, writing in The Green Guide, an online magazine.

Therefore, let the buyer beware. Avoid drinks in plastic bottles (# 1, 3,or 7 on the ground, if you want to check). In particular, that the bottles filled with hot, a condition in which the chemical than Leach. Also, avoid drinking soda from these bottles because the acid is the chemical from water. And avoid the heat in the microwave in plastic containers.

Sax identified four other factors, the epidemic of men who did not grow:

* Requirements to sit still in kindergarten. Children are taught these daysto read in kindergarten, at an age when most kids are not ready. So start to hate school.

* Video Games

* ADHD Drugs

* The lack of cultural traditions emphasize the transition to manhood

What color is your parachute for teens - Book Review

I just read "What color is your parachute for young people" by Richard Nelson Bolles. As a career consultant and owner of a labor market teen I made almost every book in category teen-jobs. I had high expectations for this book franchise based on the truly enormous success of "What color is your parachute." This book has exceeded my expectations and then some. The book stresses the importance of determining whatWe are interested in and then the choices of career planning on the base.

What I like most about the book is its simplicity and direct approach. The authors appear in all decisions that young people find a career and, above all, a roadmap for the exploration of career effectively. The book also helps young people to decide what to choose majors. I wish I had this book when I was a teenager, because I was undecided until my third yearCollege. I also like that the book was written for pleasure, and to educate not only young people but also their parents. There are a lot of suggestions, what can parents do to their children make important decisions about their careers. I also like how the book uses examples of stories of practice and submit their views.

Finally, I would recommend this book to any high school or college students, management has difficulty deciding on atheir professional future. I would also recommend to parents of teenagers and educators.

Interview with Roger Leslie, author of "Success Express for Teens"

It 's a pleasure, Roger Leslie us, as he followed talks about how young people if they really want something in their lives, their dreams can become reality if they plan to step-by-step. Welcome to Reader Views.

Irene: Hello Roger. Sounds like you have a real winner "Success Express for Teens: Activities to be 50th to change your life" Wow, things that get 50 young people can actually do without the boredom? Convince us.

Roger: Every activityin the book is not more than two or three pages, ranging from research your strengths and goals for a simple cartoon, or choose a theme music dream. Although self-employment activities, readers are actually building something great job, moving and revealing to the # 50th

Irene: What are the first activities that are proposed to the young people continue to enthusiastically. You need something big to be suspendedTo continue.

Roger: Before people can make a difference, should assess where they are. The first activities are interesting to see quickly what gave them joy in the past. Activity 1 asks you to allow the passage of happy memories of childhood Revue. # 2 can unite them, what types of activities and projects, they now argue that satisfaction. From there you can find that are more tools to help create the future more rewarding.

Irene: What inspiredThis book written?

Roger: When I taught in high school, I realized that I have all the tools for success, no matter, they wanted to pursue in life. I built these activities in my curriculum and work on them on the ground every day to help with my students until they shine in a plan that all players can turn their passion and realize their dreams broader.

Irene: Your writing style is appreciated Teens grab you. Submit their attention with your letter and your talking to them.

Roger: I work with young people for 20 years and I really concern them. You can re-up to adulthood, but they are young adults. I speak with them, as every adult I - I'm against, that they have intelligence and that their opinion counts. I do not think live their lives, how it works for me. I want to help them understand what works best for them.

Irene: Do, a> Teenager to help communicate their heart?

Roger: I think everyone can see how an individual, regardless of their age brings out the best of both. But yes, the feeling some youthful enthusiasm for life is important to reach young people. They, more than any others have confirmed their hopes. As a teenager at heart supports the efforts closely.

Irene: "Success Express for Teens" is also a workbook. Tell us what kind of activities thatto give.

Roger: I wanted the book to be action-oriented, so that the reader can immediately begin to progress. Some activities invite teenage passion to reflect on their past to discover what turns you on. Others require a specific action, like doing something nice for you, or the creation of a board of life, visual image of who they are and what they want. I made sure I included learning activities for all styles and personalities.

Irene: When you talk aboutlearning styles, would you please explain what that means.

Roger: Some of us learn by observing, listening and some by some doing. I encourage all types of learning activities, therefore, see things, hear and do can make any progress, as do successful business.

Irene: how different learning styles in the workbook, there are also styles that do not work for everyone. How to make the activities fun, exciting and seductive, those who do not learn this particular style?

Roger: Teens build momentum towards the peak of # 50 after the evaluation of activities. Inviting readers to decide how much they enjoyed each activity gives them the freedom to start to realize that not every strategy should work for everyone. In other self-help books for teens, I noticed that the authors often assume that what each person has to work for. In Success Express, the youngWhat to do in part to sample, for them, so they continue to do more, what moves them toward their goals and less of what you think works again.

Irene: I am in favor of fun. How do you convince a teenager who at one time to change their point of view, the perspective and attitude that a student can be fun.

Roger: Thanks to the appreciation of their individuality. No matter what their roles and interests and can enjoy what they do when they realize thatonly the joy, strength and enthusiasm necessary to create in every situation. It is not what they do, but the attitude that creates what they do, that makes every moment of fun.

Irene: It 's a pretty big "understanding" for an adolescent is between the debt over the establishment of a minute, and takes responsibility for their power. How do you convince kids that they alone have the power over their own position?

Roger: Teenspower-hungry. After all, they discover the independence they want, but can not yet know how to treat them. The key is for adults who have the power to persuade adolescents because they already had the sense, even if they are not fully expressed, but a model of how to use their power responsibly. If we need are responsible for ourselves and others with respect, "and wants to be, we can make informed decisions that do not come to us from the dangers young peoplesometimes to make rash decisions.

Irene: We all know that we can and must establish objectives, which must go forward in life. What you have proposed goals for young people from adults?

Roger: Take your dream of a life and cut into small pieces that you can work immediately. The biggest mistake is to imagine a teenager, starting with the goal of an unspecified date in the future. Compliance is not in StartFuture. It starts now.

Irene: The book is about self-exploration. Many young people can not reason to react to your suggestions from various. What might be some of the main reasons the book can not but be interested in yours?

Roger: boys are hungry for power. After all, they discover the independence they want, but can not yet know how to treat them. The key to adults is not the power to convince that they are teenagers, ashave meaning, even if not fully expressed, but a model for how they use their power responsibly. If we need are responsible for ourselves and others with respect, "and wants to be, we can make informed decisions that sometimes do not come from the dangers young people to make unwise decisions.

Irene: Yes, we adults often redefine the "work" too. How hard is it to redefine the young, if the core belief is that working from homehard work is required, it is hard work, you have to run in practice all the stereotypes of "work" centered?

Roger: A nice aspect of the books is that our minds open to new ideas. When young people are still living in a family where the work is hard, then read the work "activities" could invite them to recognize that you can choose to make room overlooks the idea of work is another. In every activity, I repeat a section called "What's in it for me?"In this area, I go on what the activity and explain why it is worth trying. To redefine "work", I share with readers like all ball games in the morning is a form of work. The choice of the work we do and what we strive for excellence in him the difference between someone who enjoys working and meeting with success and someone you feel drained by it and has consistently met failure.

Irene: As parents or teachers to do the jobattract young people interested?

Roger: The book uses the analogy of an express train, dreams of creating a dynamic and direction of your velocity is in a self-guided tour. Give kids a lot of space and time to pursue their dreams, regardless of Appeals. For those who need more support and direction, I work to help contain an attachment, parents, teachers, guidance counselors and other leaders of many young people.

Irene: It seemsme that parents are also planning to take responsibility for promoting and teaching the long term, as a teenager. What is the ratio teens that their parents would help them to teach?

Roger: strategies for success of the model. I have many adults to buy this book for yourself and make activities to fulfill their dreams. Why teenagers live - Excerpt from Dear God, I have a teenager-please help!

Chapter 1 (excerpt)

Why kids recite

I recall too vividly my adolescence, and for the most part, I have my parents through hell.
I rebelled, acted out, stayed up all night trying to cut the drug, school, lost my virginity and was deeply unhappy at this stage of my life.

You may be wondering what all triggered in me, so I'll share with you the answer right away.

I really was not honored or acknowledged that Iwas inside. Instead, I was abused. There were many days when it was not abused, but like me, who cut deep wound to the heart of who I was. I remember beaten with a belt and called "stupid, stupid, dead from the neck up, a nothing, a nobody, and" throughout my adolescence.

Of course, as an adult I have forgiven my adoptive father for the care, because I learned that actually did the best job that he knew at that moment. But it took me most of my lifethe emotional and psychological impact to cancel the treatment.

I was taught to "look sexy" and "grow a rich man to take care of me." It took many years and turn around so that my self-esteem may come from within and my self-sufficiency could be achieved by the discovery of my true purpose in life, my passion, I will earn my job.

The beginning of the downward spiral

I spoke with parents and help from all walks of life, all cultures, countries, and backgrounds that I have intense spiritual care and tele-seminars. A common thread they all have in common is that they were abused grow up, and if the abuse was emotional, mental or physical damage has clearly even in their adulthood. All had low self-esteem, just like me. Your teenage years were largely spent in their parents going to go on eggshells and do not rock the boat for fear of punishment or disapproval. They also had parents who went tothrough the same cycle. Consequently, they had not yet taught them how to reverse all that is the purpose of this book.

Your youth

This book covers many bases, who taught you bring a lot of attention, or you have forgotten or never. In addition, there is a method in this book that teenagers will continue to help the situation in which the face, small or large in terms of how important visualizationto be.

This process will get answers from God as you understand him or her personally to be, so you always get answers when you can not find answers for themselves, and nothing seems to work.

book many questions to answer questions during this I was given the book of God together with the answers for you, and questions to me by many of my participants in more than one hundred countries before I wrote.

AThing is clear: the parents of all cultures around the world share the same concerns. The themes are universal, and it's time you had simple answers, clear and direct - answers that make a significant difference in your life and the lives of your children.

I share much of my teenage years, so you can understand from the perspective of an adolescent to act which can be rotated in many different ways and deal with the actaround.

Think back now to your own teenage years, I remember, and how they were treated. This is important because the chances are that if your difficulties with teenagers, your teen can be difficult, and only a few years.

I know for sure, and apparently I'm not the only one.

Communicating with adolescents

Unfortunately, what is in my head when I remember my teenage years and was also a lack of love, respectcommon courtesy.
For example, when I was told what to do, I have often wondered why I was really the reason I was told what to do to understand. To my surprise, the answer was: "Because I said so."

This did nothing to help me learn and grow and understand to understand the adult point of view, I would sincerely. Instead of receiving a statement from the heart to understand me, I was, like I was ordained in the Drill Field. A hardthreatening tone pervaded this does not help me at all clear message I received, e.

Now you want a real guide to help your teenager. So I'm going to start giving the first book of some healthy ground rules around this, which will continue.

Here's a basic rule for communication with your children:

Always talk to your teenager as if you were talking to a very respected friend, colleague or member ofSociety.

This is how I talk to my kids, and we have no difficulty in understanding the battles or communication. I speak to them with the same courtesy and respect with which I want to discuss.

"Back to School Success for Parents and Students" - a book review

As a consultant, I am always looking for great resources for parents and the student handbook. Jeff Herring "Back to School Success system for parents and students is high on my list this fall. A licensed marriage and family counselor and author of the national union, Jeff decades of experience successfully with young people and their parents. His creativity and forward thinking to help parents cope with the special challenges of the new school success for studentsremarkable. In addition, Jeff brings his recommendations in easy to understand Teens "universal laws" for parents. Just follow the laws of success is so simple! Here are some of my favorite universal:

"The Law of annoying."

Recalling that annoying is frustrating for all concerned, writes Jeff: "You would think that an appeal is hurt over something that feels just children but the reality, at least in my office is right that parents complain.having to nag a lot. "I also sat in young people as an annoying, complaining that reality, I do believe this is a hobby of his parents.

"The law makers."

This is definitely my favorite, because it coincides with my lawyer to take responsibility for the success of education to parents and students. He writes: "At some point the child should be with the school, and is responsible for the result." I do not wantspoil it for you, but Jeff gives very practical suggestions to help families achieve this goal.

Not to be left out, Jeff also provides for universal laws for teenagers. Based on the same principle of recognition of the person's life is a result of the decisions he / she sees Jeff as a law student to follow. Here are two of my favorites:

"The law of conflict of personalities"

Every teenager feels that a particular teacher does not like his own. This may seem at first sight of the parents is very real for students. But Jeff tells participants: "While it is absolutely true, and it is good training for the real world, sometimes this also means a boss or colleagues .." It turns out a more practical advice on how students can get what feels like one of the winners will share a losing battle.

"The Law of Yours"

Jeff writes: "Schools Make it yours .." Therefore, your student recalled that only he / she can go onThis "journey". Success depends on him / her the title of this trip. The promotion of your students take the step towards independence, they do so much, and make positive choices to fulfill their wish.

Jeff Herring cites numerous other bonus tips for parents and young people returning to the success of the school: "things that parents can share 7 years for the success of" How to spy on your teenager without their knowledge - the secret language of the certificates. ""What do you do with a record of poor people to do." There is also a chapter dedicated to graduates.

In addition to great content, herring, Jeff wrote this in an e-book. There is no exit from the library to dig through what seems like thousands of pounds. Busy busy with teenage parents themselves are using them as related. Another great thing about its low cost. Jeff has rated this e-book so that even families who find it difficult to do,Ronde, the advice they need. He also offers a money back guarantee.

As in any book, some people will be someone who is not. Some of the chapters may be shorter than you want. However, I still give Jeff Herring Back to School Success System "A".

Teen Anger Management - How can the art of war, put - Sun Tzu If you proud

Teen anger management and Sun Tzu "The Art of War" has much in common. The Art of War is a book of military strategy that not only survived the devastation, but also to thrive. What is it about this book, the military has been intrigued minds for millennia. It 's simple approach to the war and how to win successfully tested over and over again. What makes a lot of age to book and want to interfere with a teenager disrespectful?

Sun Tzu Chapter 7 of the book is titled "The commitment of force." Explain the danger of direct conflict and how to win the head to avoid the situations to be under direct and indirect violence opting instead. A quote from Master Sun Tzu was, "If you know yourself and your enemy, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss." A loss alone. I would like to have information on this first estimate of 711 losses, but if you know how the application> Teenage anger management skills that you never lose another argument with your child.

What it means to know your enemy, and how to get involved indirectly? You have to know what motivates your teen, and what not. Once you know these things, which will give you the physiological benefits you need when there is fun as a teenager. If you think that "my son is not an enemy of me." I can see how and why you want to add such a negativesecond connotation, but in a verbal conflict, you need to know how to get in such a way that you feel that you have your point of view, not their positions.

When I refused this maneuver Sun Tzu taught that I immediately began to positive results in my own budget to see. If I need to do with my teenage daughter (such as mowing the lawn), which normally would have started some heated battle, I asked them indirectly. She mowed the lawn, I askedtake responsibility for washing clothes. Now, even if she does not like to mow the lawn, she hates washing clothes.

I asked if he could mow the lawn, instead of washing clothes. Little knew that that was my main objective - to convince them to mow the lawn. What can I do to her what I wanted to do it without a verbal duel. If you have anger management looking for new ways to handle the teen, trying to learn the tactics to grab the power of the indirect routeSun Tzu would be as a teacher. It can be found in history books reviewed thousands of years later. If not, at least you can get the lawn without much of a fight.
